Where? North-west of Bournemouth in Dorset.

Why? Won by Liberal Democrat Annette Brooke in 2001, who retained the seat in 2010 with a majority of just 269 votes. Brooke is standing down at this election. A seat the Conservatives will want to win in order to buffer any losses to Labour elsewhere.

Annette Brooke, MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole

MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole since 2001, Annette Brooke (Lib Dem) served on Poole Borough Council from 1986 to 2003. She has been chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Groups for Microfinance and Sure Start, and co-chair 0f the Group for Breast Cancer.
